Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence Award

In July 2017, Integrus Holdings, the holding company for several market-dominating brands of dinnerware, metalware, and glassware (including Fortessa Tableware Solutions), relocated its corporate headquarters from Sterling to One Loudoun. The company, established in Loudoun County in 1993, also has a significant international presence; however, at the place Integrus calls home, its new, jaw-dropping 40,000 square foot headquarters not only demonstrates the success of its brand and business model, but also positions the company as a major global retail destination.

The owner and architect analyzed every detail of each space to ensure that a cohesive, brand-defining design—refined yet rustic, urbane yet approachable, vibrant yet soothing—carried throughout the building. This “perfectly imperfect” aesthetic conveys both an organic, comfortable feel and a steely industrial quality—a juxtaposition articulated by reclaimed wood wall panels uniting different space types, polished concrete floors, thoughtfully curated light fixtures, and, of course, a restaurateur’s paradise of gleaming tableware products displayed on farm tables and iron racks. The space calls to mind the rich contrasts of Loudoun—the rural character of western Loudoun juxtaposed with the more industrial and business-centric feel of eastern Loudoun.
